EXPLANATION OF TERMS FOR THIS DIRECTORY

GAY:  A campground where the majority of the campers are male. When stated some of these resorts are male only.

LESBIAN: A campground where the majority of the campers are female. When stated some of these resorts are female only.

GAY/LESBIAN:  A campground that welcomes both male and female guests and the guests are a mix of gay and lesbian campers. In some cases there maybe separate gay and lesbian sections in the campground.

GAY FRIENDLY*:  A campground where the majority of the guests are traditional, straight campers, but is owned and operated by family or has staff members that are gay or gay accepting and is a safe and comfortable environment for gay and lesbian campers. A campground where gay and lesbian and same sex couples are welcomed.

MEMBERSHIP:  Many campgrounds that are exclusively gay and lesbian, require a membership to maintain their private member only status.  If you are traveling and plan to be in the area of one of these campgrounds, call ahead, most of them  allow the purchase of a membership as little as 24 hours in advance.
